ICE doubled its aerial deportation machinery in just one year without yet having its own planes

In one year, ICE doubled its fleet of aircraft used for deportation and transfer of immigrants. In March 2026 it recorded 1,794 flights, 225 international and 1,225 internal transfers. The report warns about the impact on due process, access to lawyers, and the increase in public spending.
