The number of Latinos arrested without criminal records has skyrocketed in the last year: ICE has increased its records sixfold.

A lot of things has been said about the increase in detentions of immigrants without criminal records in the United States since the beginning of 2025, but the data reveals that this phenomenon has not been uniform. In this research, I want to show you how the data and statistics reveal that those being detained most by the expansion of the immigration detention system are the Latino population.
