The United States wouldn't be so strong without immigrants: 1 in 5 essential jobs are held by low-wage workers
Without the thousands of immigrants who receive low wages and perform essential jobs, the U.S. economy would not be as strong as it is today. This is the conclusion of a recent study by WorkRise, a research network dedicated to promoting economic opportunities for low-wage workers across the country, which reveals that approximately 5.7 million immigrants are employed in low-income occupations.
