The U.S. remains the number one migration destination, but documented immigration is declining (EN)

The United States continues to top the global ranking as the most desired destination for migration, according to measurements from the Gallup World Poll. Millions of people around the world aspire to obtain a visa, study, work, or reunite with their families on U.S. soil. According to the most recent study published this past April, in 2025, 15% of adults worldwide said they would like to move permanently to another country, naming the United States as their main destination. While the country remains the number one destination, this is the lowest level recorded in nearly two decades of research, Gallup stated.
